Installation view, artwork, left to right: Shiori Tono; Ayumu Yamamoto
MAKI Gallery is pleased to announce its participation in ART OSAKA 2023, the longest running contemporary art fair in the Kansai region. The gallery will present works by two of its represented artists, Shiori Tono and Ayumu Yamamoto. Using photos from her early childhood, as well as ones taken of recent everyday scenes, Shiori Tono captures the fleeting and elusive nature of memory through her own unique process. Ayumu Yamamoto employs themes of intimacy and strife to represent various aspects of the world we live in by depicting a medley of human figures, plants, animals, and other decorative motifs in striking, complex colors. In a majestic modernist building representative of Osaka, we invite you to experience the expressive visions of these two artists, whose works waver between reality and fantasy.
We look forward to seeing you at the fair.
